Problem & Goals

Problem

Users lacked tools to track progress, see active orders, or compare results with peers. Motivation dropped due to unclear paths to earn currency and complete simple tasks

Goals

Motivate employees to get involved in company life byintroducing a simple and rewarding system that turns participation into a positive, trackable experience

Constraints

Tight release deadlines and a client shifting priorities and direction throughout the development process

Discovery & Research

In-depth interviews with 5 users were conducted to explore preferred ways of tracking progress within the system. The most common and intuitive solution identified was a dedicated profile page.

The design process began with an analysis of reference products, given the ubiquity of similar solutions. This helped surface established best practices already proven on the market.

Key insights from interviews and reference analysis:
  • When there is too much information, it should be grouped into clear sections
  • The main page should highlight only the most important actions or data — guiding user attention
  • Banners can be used to draw attention to specific goals or updates
  • The user's financial balance is the element they monitor most closely

Approach & Process

As priorities often shifted during the project, it was essential to document all agreements both in writing and visually to maintain clarity and alignment.

Deliverables were structured as major and minor releases, each followed by a review session. Some parts were approved immediately, while others were sent back for iteration and refinement.

First version

What worked: Key info on one screen, CTA placed near the image, Motivational badges

What to improved: Reduced visual overload, Increased focus one earning now

Second version

Improved focus on the user's wallet and key personal data, clearly separating it from sections like missions and orders. All additional information was grouped into categories to guide users directly to the content they need.

Final solution

Final adjustments included updated tab styling to improve visibility, as the number of tabs was minimal. The illustration was drawn from scratch and adapted to match the brand's color palette.Orders ready for pickup were visually highlighted for quicker recognition.

Outcome & Impact

The newly designed profile allowed users to track their progress with orders and rewards, and compare achievements with colleagues. It became a key element of the platform, supporting motivation and engagement through clear, personal insights. Up to 62% of active users visited profile and followed the link to «earn now» missions.

Reflection

The next phase of the project includes adapting the interface for mobile and developing an admin panel. This project provided valuable experience working on a B2C product, offering insight into the unique challenges of the domain and reinforcing the importance of thorough research before starting the design process.
